Ducted Air Conditioning Installation
Papworth Heating and Cooling specialise in installing split systems and ducted air conditioning. With an extensive range of products, from splits to evaporative or reverse cycle air conditioners, we’ve got the ideal cooling system for your home and budget.
Reverse Cycle Air Conditioning
Reverse cycle air conditioning is the best and most popular way to heat and cool your home. Reverse cycle systems use heat pump technology to heat and cool the air, so although they are not the cheapest system to run, they are highly efficient.
Reverse cycle air conditioning systems are more expensive than evaporative systems. However, they offer outstanding value and versatility as they provide both heating and cooling in one and allow precise temperature control across the home.
Reverse Cycle Air Conditioning
Precise Temperature Regulation
Reverse cycle air conditioning systems allow your home to be divided into different zones for added comfort and efficiency. Each zone can be operated independently so you never need to waste energy heating/cooling empty rooms.
Reverse Cycle Air Conditioning
Versatility & Flexibility For Comfort In Every Room
With the latest technological advances, different rooms can be set to different temperatures. So, if the kids like their bedrooms nice and toasty in winter yet the adults prefer it a little cooler, then it’s quick and easy to adjust individual rooms to the required temperature. Plus, you can now control most reverse cycle air conditioning systems via an app for the ultimate in ease and convenience.
Ducted Reverse Cycle Air Conditioning
Installation
There are three main parts to a reverse cycle air conditioning system:
External Heat Exchanger or Condenser
This sits outside of the home and pumps the heated or cooled refrigerant to the indoor unit and fan coil.
Internal Heat Exchanger & Fan Coil
This sits inside the loft space and is responsible for sending heated or cooled air to other parts of the home via the ducts.
Ducting
Heated or cooled air is distributed across the home via a series of insulated foil tubes called ducts which run throughout the loft space. The ducts run from the internal heat exchanger and fan to all the different rooms in the house. The end of the duct is vented through the ceiling via a grille allowing the heated or cooled air to flow directly into the room.
Reverse cycle air conditioning often takes between three to six hours to install, and our team will talk you through the whole process. We’ll set up and program the different zones and show you how to use the system.
Reverse Cycle Air Conditioning Brands
We supply and install all major brands of air conditioning systems, including Mitsubishi, Samsung, Daikin, Braemer and Fujitsu so you’ll never have to compromise on choice.
Reverse Cycle Air Conditioning Cost
The cost of installing reverse cycle air conditioning depends on multiple factors, including the size of your home (single or double storey and the number of rooms), the size of the system, the number of outlets required and the brand of air conditioner you choose.
However, as a general guide, the supply and installation of a reverse cycle air conditioning system ranges from $5000 to $9000 for a single-storey 3-4 bedroom home in Adelaide.
Evaporative Air Conditioning
Ducted evaporative conditioning systems are one of the most cost-effective and efficient ways to cool your home. Evaporative air conditioning systems work by drawing in hot, dry air from the outside and passing it through water-soaked cooling pads. As the air is passed through the cooling pads, the water absorbs the heat and evaporates, creating cool air.
Natural Clean & Fresh Air
Unlike reverse cycle air conditioners, which filter and recycle air; evaporative heaters draw in fresh air from the outside to provide a constant stream of filtered, cool air throughout the home. As the air is not recycled, a door or some windows should be left open to allow the air to circulate properly.
Temperature Regulation
Evaporative air conditioning is a natural chemical-free process, so precise temperature regulation is not possible, meaning that you can not specify the individual temperature in any room.
Humidity
Evaporative air conditioners work best in hot, dry climates where humidity is typically below 25%. Evaporative cooling is less effective on more humid days as the outside air is already highly saturated, meaning it can’t absorb enough water to cool.
Evaporative Air Conditioning
Installation
There are two main parts to the installation of an evaporative cooling system – the cooler/fan unit and the ductwork. The integrated fan and cooling unit is installed on the roof and a network of insulated ducts run through the loft space to distribute the cool air into the separate room.
Evaporative Air Conditioning
Installation Costs
The cost of an evaporative air conditioning system depends on the size of your home, the number of outlets required and the brand of air conditioner you choose. However, as a general guide, the supply and installation of a ducted evaporative air conditioning system ranges from $3000 to $5000 for a single-storey 3-4 bedroom home in Adelaide.
Evaporative Air Conditioning Brands
Papworth Heating and Cooling only install the best quality air conditioning brands including Coolair, Coolbreeze and Breezair, so you know you’ll get excellent performance and years of use from your system.
Split System Air Conditioning
Split systems are not a whole house heating and cooling solution but are a great way to provide heating and cooling in smaller rooms like bedrooms, kitchens, dining rooms etc. They are the quickest, easiest and cheapest systems to install and offer both heating and cooling functionality.
Installing Single or Multiple Splits
Split systems work on the same principle as a reverse cycle air conditioner with an outside heat exchanger which is attached to an internal unit with a fan. You can have a single split or multiple split system, where more than one indoor unit is connected to a single outdoor unit.
Split Systems
Efficient & Easy Operation
Split systems are highly efficient and economical to run. They allow precise temperature control and are easy to operate using a remote control. More and more split systems are coming onto the market with smart functionality allowing you to control your heating and cooling via an app for added ease and convenience.
Cost of Split System
The cost of a split system depends on the size of the unit required to heat your room. Split systems range in size from 2.6kW suitable for small rooms through to 8kW systems. Supply and installation of a split system ranges from $1500 to $3000 and all our work comes with a product and workmanship warranty.
